The Mizzou College of Engineering building originated back in the late 1800’s with many of the current lab spaces, classrooms and offices still dating to the 1930’s. Fortunately, an extensive upgrade of the structure of the main building in 2009 was enabled by generous matching contributions from Thomas and Nell Lafferre and other alumni. There are still labs, classrooms and offices that need significant modernization in that interior section and other COE buildings. New lab equipment, classroom furniture and instructional computing systems are always in demand. Foundation contributions ranging from as little as $10K to $100K to millions can make a huge difference in the quality of education provided to Mizzou COE students.

Foundation Contributions: In 2011, the Foundation made its first facilities grant with a $10K contribution to the College of Engineering to allow upgrade of a room near the COE Library to create an additional Study Room with modernized features and furniture. This facilities project was completed in late 2012 and a plaque recognizes the Foundation’s contribution.
In 2015, the Foundation also supported the COE in fundraising for a “50/50 Program” to enable state funding for major facilities upgrades.
